All high quality leathers will stretch and form comfort creases over time. Puddling occurs when the seating areas do not appear as tight as they did when purchased. This is as a result of the stretching that occurs over time. Puddling is natural and expected; it does not indicate a fault with the leather. It is important to note that puddling does not affect the integrity or durability of your furniture—it's just a sign that your sofa has seen some use.
Treatment
- If your cushions are removable, remove the cushions and “fluff” them. This involves lifting one side of the cushion up and then dropping it down so that all of the foam inside has a chance to shift around. “Fluffing” should be done from all sides of the cushion in a circular motion to evenly distribute the fill material inside.
- If you have removable cushions you can move the cushions around from time to time. This will allow for even wear and tear on all cushions.
